Americans, preparedness must now account for man-made disasters as well as
natural ones. Knowing what to do during an emergency is an important part
of being prepared and may make all the difference when seconds count.

GRANT RECEIVED 2008! |
|
|
In 2006/2007 ESPNA won grants from the city to install acorn lighting.
Currently we have an infrastructure of 13 lights, which we can expand upon
on future years. For the Grant year 2008, members have decided to return our
focus to Identity Markers/Neighborhood Signage. |
|
WHY MORE MARKERS? |
|
|
The 6 markers constructed in 2000 were based on the 2 historic markers at
14th Ave and Dr. MLK St. Per our neighborhood plan, we will construct 5
additional markers to reinforce our sense of history & neighborhood and
create awareness of the special place that is E/SPNA. |
|
WE NEED YOU! |
|
|
The Identity Marker project success will hinge on neighborhood volunteering
and fundraising. We are committed to 520 hours and $3,000.00. Currently the
fundraising/donation total is at $323.00, (More than 10%!). We will keep you
posted on progress each month. Volunteer efforts for the 2008 grant are: |
- N-TEAM Paint Day, Neighborhood & Alley Cleanup Efforts
- Crime prevention (bike rides, neighborhood watch)
- Haunted Hike (a fundraiser for ID Markers and our yearly charity)
- Identity Marker Committee & Implementation
- Contact Sally Zimmermann, 2008 Grant Chair
(sally.zimmermann@verizon.net)
820-9000 to volunteer, donate or with questions.
